Our friends at Apple have considered everything; even a cleverly hidden way for you to Orientation Lock your iPad 2 / iPhone 4 screen.
When lying in bed with your iPad or iPhone, as you move around, the screen tends to move around with you. While the feature can be really functional at time, at other times it can be really inconvenient (like when you’re trying to read from your Borders eBook, for example). Unless you’ve read the manual, you probably don’t know what I’m about to share.
This post actually offers two tips and tricks in one… 🙂
Step 1: Double click on the home button and you will notice a Shortcut Menu appear at the bottom. Most people don’t know about this menu –it’s great for switching between applications without first going back to the home screen (Tip & Trick # 1)
Step 2: Swipe from left to right. You’ll notice an iPod menu appear on the right side. One the left side is an arrow key. Click it and you’ve locked the screen. You can lock in either landscape or portrait view. (Tip & Trick #2)
