On the heels of the release of iPhone 5 and iOS 6, YouMail, the most complete call solution and management app for the iPhone, has just rolled out an update to the app that is its most significant yet. YouMail now includes in-app, numberless messaging that allows users to drop voice messages and other recording to YouMail’s nearly three million registered users across iOS, Android and Blackberry without even dialing a number. Users can also use this feature to drop voice memos and other digital recording to themselves.

While our current reality is made up of touch screen phones and 3D TV’s, back in the 90’s when the Internet was only emerging and a cell phone was considered a privileged luxury, these concepts seemed a distant future. Blackberry Empathy

The current smartphone market resembles a battlefield between iPhone and Android devices, which according to “Inman News”   make up nearly 75% of the market. RIM’s Blackberry is currently working hard to regain its market stability after 4.5 percentage decline to 17.2%. In order to regain its consumer base RIM is desperately trying to keep up with current market trends, therefore a lot of resources are being spent on coming up with concepts that could turn around the current situation.  The “Empathy” smartphone concept is something we would love to see hit the shelves in the near future. Empathy is a concept that was put together by “Art Center College of Design” and it features a freshly revised look for upcoming Blackberry handsets.

iOS 5 is here!

After months of anticipation, Apple has revealed the features of its fresh and revamped iOS 5. Since the iOS 5 was first announced at June’s WWDC, we have been ticking down the days of the calendar, but at last it has arrived!

10am Pacific time thousands rushed to their freshly updated iTunes 10.5 to download the new software update. The update brought us over 200 new features; we will highlight a couple of the most exciting ones for you today!

Wondering how the app evolved?  There’s a process to the app evolution!  Mobile technology has forever revolutionized the way we compute, predominantly via apps.  Above is a nice infographic illustrating the history and evolution of mobile apps.  For instance, the iPhone App Store has generated over 4 billion downloads, totaling over $3 billion in revenue –WOW!

If you’re over 21, that means a couple of things.  In Israel, it means you’ve probably already finished your army service, so congratulations. In America, it means that you can legally drink…congratulations once again. For the intents and purposes of this post, it means that you’re old enough to remember when Motorola was the king of mobile phones.
