Laughter has the power to relax the whole body, boost the immune system and protect the human heart. That being said, have you ever wondered what the world’s funniest joke is?

Apparently, Richard Wiseman; a nifty Psychology Professor from the UK, is wondering the same exact thing. His clever experiment was designed to isolate the “world’s funniest joke” by setting up a simple website where people could submit and then rate jokes.

This setup allowed people to come to the “world’s funniest joke” organically, through a two-step process of presentation and participation.  I am a personal fan of Wiseman’s work and was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of this experiment.

So without further ado, here it is:

World’s funniest joke

“Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn’t seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps, “My friend is dead! What can I do?”. The operator says “Calm down. I can help. First, let’s make sure he’s dead.” There is a silence, then a shot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says “OK, now what?”

Comment below and let us know if you think you’ve got even funnier stuff (try and keep them clean…)!
