I’m just going to come out and say it:
There are very few things I enjoy more, than writing about technological/societal differences on SheBytes. And of course, my favorite is when there are male vs female comparisons; because its always interesting.
That’s why I just had to post the infographic above which takes a look at the gender differences in Android app usage; yielding surprising results.
For those of you who don’t know, “The Nielsen Company… is one of the world’s leading suppliers of marketing information…active in over 100 countries…total revenues amounted to $4.8 billion in 2009.”
My top two stats from the data are both social media related:
- Facebook scored 69% for male users but an astounding 81% of female users
- Interestingly, Google + had %7.2 for women but an almost double 15.8% for men!
What this shows is not only that women know what’s good, (Facebook), and if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. But also, curiously; that men (although not typically championed as the social species), are more interested in trying alternative social media services then gals.
