Cleverly deriving its name by conjoining, the utter confusion during the Biblical account of the Tower of Babel and the word “lingo”, these developers clearly know how to have some fun.

Babelingo is simple, and allows you to translate the most vital phrases, for travelers, from your own language into one of the 11 the app offers; “English, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Czech, Hindi, Japanese, and Chinese.”

I’m not sure exactly how I feel about the “Mine” and “Theirs” buttons used to translate phrases. It is slightly too reminiscent of Pink Floyd’s (one of my favorite bands), song “Us and Them”…

Nevertheless, especially handy for those short excursions and spontaneous vacationers, Babelingo is crucial for travel and a new must for tourists.
